Sentient Object Books is a reader's guide to sentient object romance: every book we can find where the love interest is an object that thinks, feels and very much wants the main character. It's run by a romance author who writes in the genre, because this corner of romance deserved a proper home.

Which books we list

We list any published romance where:

• the love interest is sentient, and
• is, or is bound to, an object for a meaningful part of the story, and
• the story is a romance (it ends happily ever after or happy for now).

Any author or publisher can submit a book. Every listing is checked by hand before it goes live, and we tag every book the same way so you can filter fairly.

How the quiz works

The quiz scores every book against your answers: the object you pick counts most, then whether it turns human, the mood and the setting. It never shows a book spicier than you asked for. When two books score exactly the same, the newer one wins. The "Curator's pick" shown alongside your results is clearly labelled and chosen by us.
